Solar power supplies Help Convert Light Into Electricity and are The Building Blocks of a Solar Power Unit

March 24th, 2010 by News World Report

Solar power supplies are instrumental in converting light into electricity and they can be the fundamental blocks that make up the essence of a solar power unit. Many different types of solar power supplies exist including solar batteries, solar battery chargers as well as solar panels. Solar batteries are sealed devices that do not require maintenance, while the solar batter charger is used for powering up devices like radio receivers, radio modems and lighting. The solar panel converts energy from the sun into usable forms that can be achieved by absorbing the heat from the sun directly, or when its light is converted into electricity.

Different To Photovoltaic Systems

The solar power supplies are not the same as photovoltaic system as each uses different components and conform to different specifications and the solar power charger is not like its photovoltaic counterpart. Solar power supplies are used in a variety of applications and need to conform to many different standards.

The solar panel is perhaps the most important solar power supplies item and it is a flat solar thermal collector that will help collect solar thermal energy. It is sometimes also referred to as photovoltaic module that is made up of solar cells that generate electricity. In any case, this item of solar power supplies is typically flat and come in various sizes.

Some of the leading names that produce solar power supplies such as solar panels include Shell, Sharp, Sanyo and BP. With various models being available, one can pick and choose one that will meet individual requirements, and they can be used in commercial, remote homes as well as in grid-tie applications. The BP solar panel uses Silicon Nitride technology that provides a cost effective as well as efficient solution that is backed by a twenty five year guarantee.

Essentially, the solar power supplies that are used should be able to withstand the harshest environments and provide years of reliable service, and include various components needed for everything solar including backup power systems, remote systems as well as utility-connected power systems.

Some common items of solar power supplies include the solar cells, solar array, junction box, combiner box, charge controller, amp-hour meter, flooded batteries and a lot more. There are specialized stores that stock and sell solar power supplies and one can even surf the Internet to source a store that will have the required supplies.

The author works as a dentist, and he use solar power in his clinical, this save him a lot of money. so he recommended this economic way to his business coach and his brother who is a carpet cleaner.

Government run heath care, federal bailouts, stimulus packages, increased government debt; all of these topics are in the news today 24/7, 365. We hear about our government spending trillions and trillions of dollars in an attempt to correct problems that plague our country. Have you seen any of that money? How are you doing? Have you seen any benefit from government programs like cash for clunkers, home loan restructuring, or COBRA assistance?

What about us? What about, as Bill O'Reilly says, “the folks?”

But, what led to the GM bankruptcy?

The concept of planned obsolescence was a major factor in GM losing a great deal of money in the past decade. Planned obsolescence was a design concept that ensured a car would not last many years/miles in order to stimulate new sales of newer vehicles. In short, cars were purposely built not to last. This was a foolish notion because foreign import cars were known for their ability to last upwards of 200,000 miles. GM Bankruptcy shows planned obsolescence was a poor managerial concept.

Why did Sam Walton's company go from a single local store to an international franchise? Is there a real secret to success, or were the stars just lined up correctly for such an occurrence?

Sam Walton expounded the buy low, sell low philosophy while others were just giving it lip service. Wal-Mart still pounds and oppresses their vendors to sell products at just above cost so they can, in turn, put those products on the market for less than everyone else. Making a little on a lot of volume makes for big revenues. It's simple, if it's done right.

Sarah and her husband Elvin were in the hay business in Alabama. They hauled hay from the fields to the stores or farms in the central part of the state. One year the rains failed, and the hay fields were depleted early in the growing season. Elvin heard that Tennessee had plenty of hay for sale. So, they proceeded to drive up Interstate 65, make their purchase, and deliver hay to their usual clientele, for the same price they were getting before.

How did GM Fritz Henderson, Wagoner, and others handle the problems? The answer to this is shrouded in mystery. A clear plan to reverse the problems with General Motors was never truly instituted. Attempts to sell the European wing of the company proved fruitless and further losses piled up. Eventually, the strategy arrived at was to accept a bailout loan from the federal government to avoid heading into bankruptcy court. The plan didn't work and GM could not avoid bankruptcy filing. This essentially ended General Motors as far as it had previously existed and, ironically, it was also the start of GM Fritz Henderson as CEO.

The end of General Motors proved bittersweet. The GM bankruptcy allows the company to exist albeit in a radically different form. It has now been dubbed Government Motors and the name change truly is an end of an era

The Stormy Reign of Akhenaton and his Queen

March 23rd, 2010 by News World Report

He was often referred to as the “Heretic King.” Akhenaton the Pharaoh was very likely one of the very first rulers to embrace monotheism. As coregent with his father the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, Akhenaton showed no tendency towards a desire to change the religion of Egypt. After his politically advantageous marriage to Queen Nefertiti, he began to worship only the solar God Aten. He then renounced his royal name, Amenhotep, taking the moniker Akhenaten which meant “He Who Serves Aten.” Nefertiti also changed her name to Nefer-Nefru-Aten , or “Beautiful is the Beauty of Aten.”

the ruling in Egyptian priesthood considered the actions of the Pharaoh heresy, so Akhenaton distanced himself by setting up a new court in what is now the modern city of Amarna. The king's power could not be questioned although his monotheistic philosophy was questioned by many. The Egyptian people still felt compelled to follow Akhenaton and nearly 20,000 made their home in Akhenaten el-Armana, a tremendous urban city dominated by brilliant art and architecture.

Akhenaten's faith in the sun disk god, also brought about changes in Egyptian art. For the first time, Egyptian artists were compelled to craft art based on the celebration of life rather than death. Frescoes and stone wall reliefs were common forms of art in ancient Egypt. They were decorated with paintings and text and often intended to commemorate an historic event. They were designed both for artistic and religious reasons.

although Akhenaton ruled for more than 17 years, little remains of his reign. the Egyptian priesthood sought to eliminate any evidence of the 'heretic Pharaohs' monotheistic legacy. A few artifacts from the time period do remain. One such piece is the Akhenaten and Family wall relief that sits in the Altes Museum in Berlin. The artifact is significant because it demonstrates a shift in artistic style from traditional ‘staged' poses to a more naturalistic scence.

The inscriptions on the relief indicate that this was at Akhenaten's insistence. He is seen kissing one of his daughters. Queen sits across from him, a second daughter playing with her earring. Not all conventions of Egyptian art are abandoned. The children are depicted as much smaller than the King and Queen even though they were full grown at the time. This is symbolic of their lesser stature to the King and Queen.

Is 2012 the End of Days?

March 23rd, 2010 by News World Report

Twenty twelve is set to be a momentous time, the very first winter youth Olympic games is going to be held in January, the United States are going to hold a presidential election and the UK will observe the diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth. In case you're getting excited about 2013 don't get your hopes up, considering that according to some predictions, the world is due to end on December 21. If you love Christmas, make the most of this season and the next, given that according to the Mayan calendar, they'll be your last. Potentially.

Well before Europeans showed up in meso America the inhabitants utilized a complicated mixture of calendars to record their dates.  The Haab or solar calendar, both a timepiece and Mayan art form, was composed of eighteen twenty day months including a time period of 5 days named Wayeb to bring the total to 365.

The Tzolkin on the other hand was a cycle of 260 days, thirteen multiplied by 20.  No-one is aware quite exactly why 260 days were chosen, though it appears the numbers 13 and twenty were each significant to these early cultures. There exists a probability that it was linked to the time between a woman's initial missed period and the birth of  her child, and made it easier to foretell when a baby might be born, however other hypotheses about crop growing and zodiac observations could be equally accurate. Nearly all dates could be established by a combination of the Haab and Tzolin, the period would come together once every fifty two years, which is approximately once in every lifetime.

To observe intervals longer than fifty two years the Mayans utilized another method which we now call the Long Count calendar. This system is found in both Olmec and Aztec art and wasn't introduced by the Maya. Dates run forward from a mythologic day zero, the date of the introduction of the present world. Just like all cultures the base units were days, with twenty days in a uinal and 18 uinals in the tun (roughly a year). A K'atun consisted of twenty tuns and twenty of these a b'ak'tun. Once again the number 13 was important and a number of inscriptions in Mayan artwork show the date changing at the conclusion of 13 b'ak'tuns and talked of events that occur on this particular date. This resulted in  suggestions that the Mayans anticipated something major would occur near the final day of the 13th B'ak'tun. That day is actually calculated to be 21st or 23 December 2012. What exactly might we expect?

Well according to several scholars nothing whatsoever. There are several references to something taking place about that point in time in inscriptions, however nothing really concrete, so it really is surprising the amount of publicity 2012 is generating. Many say there may a spiritual evolution, while some mention a momentous galactic alignment, although this is based on the location of the galactic equator, and that cannot be identified, this does not seem very likely. Yet other people are worried about planet Niburu.

Collision with planet X (or Niburu) has been forecast since the year 2003, yet any planet close enough to be in collision with the Earth in 2012 would now become plainly visible to astronomers in the evening sky. Sadly this fictional collision has become confused in the media with the real and predicted approach of a giant asteroid referred to as Eros which is expected to pass our planet in 2012. Eros is larger than the asteroid which we believe wiped out the dinosaurs 65 millions years ago but since it won't ever be closer than seventy times the distance from the moon, it's unlikely to do any damage.

Looking at the Mayan calendar is a great reason to think about the way we calculate time and why, to comprehend the solar cycles that still rule our existence and to admire the artwork of an society. As to planning for the end of the world, that still looks a little premature.

Profit Online With Affiliate Programs And Multilevel Marketing

March 22nd, 2010 by News World Report

There are many ways to make fast easy money online, but you need to know where to look to find the best options around in today’s online marketplace. Many people have found multilevel marketing and affiliate programs to be very profitable.

MLM programs can be a perfect way to make money online very quickly, because they give you a prebuilt business that lets you generate sales right away. These programs generally give a unique website with product information and distribution capabilities for selling the products offered by the business. You simply have to refer people to these websites to create your revenue stream.

The way to make the most money possible with these programs is by spreading the word about the program everyone you can. By telling many people very quickly about the program, you increase the chances of making a sale. You should first inform your family about the business. When you talk to family and friends about the business, they will often inquire about more information, and they will eventually purchase your offerings. This will let you make money right from the start.

To spread the word to the public about the product and make even more sales, it is always a good idea to be active on public forums. Public forums allow you to create as many messages as you want, and you can make all of your messages relevant to the product you are selling. You can also use other techniques like pay per click advertising to increase your revenue even more. These methods may cost money in order to make money, but they can be very effective and they can give you an immediate income stream that you can reinvest to make even more profit.

If you do not like multilevel marketing, you can always take advantage of the many affiliate programs that are available online. These affiliate programs allow anybody to create a business relationship with well-established organizations.

The goal of every affiliate is to contact as many people as possible with information that represents the company you are selling products for. Every time you make a sale from your own marketing campaigns, you’ll receive a portion of the profits earned by the company.

Becoming an affiliate can be an easy and quick way to make money online, but you may need some tools in order to make your efforts as profitable as possible. You will not have to buy transformers, or anything that extreme, but a printer copier scanner fax machine may be the perfect solution for increasing your revenue stream. With this machine, you can keep track of your marketing efforts, and your records, in order to maximize the effectiveness of your strategies.

  • Report: State Dept. Official May Go To Work For Google
A State Department official who's made something of a splash due to his use of Twitter might soon begin collecting paychecks from Google, according to a new report.  Jared Cohen would supposedly assume a "strategic policy role" at the company. Cohen has an interesting track record.  He's received degrees from Stanford and Oxford, authored several books, and according to his State Department bio, focuses on counter-terrorism, the Middle East, and youth issues, among other things. Cohen is also the person responsible for asking Twitter to delay its maintenance when Iranian protesters were using the service.  And for better or worse, the New York Times reported that he's one of two officials who "raised hackles on Capitol Hill" and "embarrassed the State Department" with informal tweets during a trip to Syria. (Their biggest misstep was probably mentioning that Cohen challenged the Minister of Telecom to a cake-eating contest, if you're curious.) Anyway, back to the Google-related rumor.  Kara Swisher spoke to "sources close to the situation" and reported afterward, "Cohen has been in discussions with Google in recent months about going there, those sources said, although it is not a done deal." Cohen would no doubt be a considerable asset to Google.  The company will just have to consider whether hiring him (assuming he's agreeable to the move) might cause it to receive even more attention from antitrust regulators.
  • Internet Gambling Bill To Get Mark-Up Tuesday
The Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection and Enforcement Act (H.R. 2267) which was debated at a Congressional hearing this week is set to be amended or marked up by the House Financial Services Committee next Tuesday. Michael Waxman, spokesperson for the Safe and Secure Internet Gambling Initiative tells WebProNews "Chairman Frank is clearly intent on moving forward his legislation to regulate online gambling activity." "This mark up demonstrates that Congress is serious about moving Chairman Frank's bill forward and establishing a strict regulatory framework for Internet gambling activity," said Waxman.  "The passage of this legislation would be a win-win as it will protect consumers, create an estimated 32,000 new jobs over five years and provide federal and state governments with as much as $72 billion in new revenues over ten years."   The legislation, introduced by Chairman Frank in May 2009, would establish a framework to permit licensed gambling operators to accept wagers from individuals in the U.S.  In addition to mandating an array of consumer protections, the legislation reinforces the rights of each state to determine whether or not to allow Internet gambling activity for people accessing the Internet within the state and to apply other restrictions on the activity as determined necessary.  Since its introduction, a bi-partisan group of 69 co-sponsors has signed onto the legislation. A recent analysis by H2 Gambling capital predicts that Internet gambling regulation would create as many as 32,000 jobs over its first five years.  "During this difficult economy, the revenue and job creation potential that regulated Internet gambling provides will go a long way to help states and families alike balance their budgets," said Waxman.
  • AOL Launches Advertising Hub For Politics
AOL has launched AOL Advertising Politics hub aimed at campaigns, advocacy groups and companies looking to target audiences online. Online display advertising has become a key factor for political campaigns. With the Supreme Court ruling earlier this year lifting the restrictions on political ad spending from corporations, companies can now join campaign and issue advocacy groups in influencing voters online. AOL hopes to capitalize on the upcoming November elections. The Politics hub will help political marketers figure out how to structure their online campaign from using display advertising to help fundraise, build name recognition, organize operations, persuade voters, respond in real time to negative coverage, get the vote out, or educate voters about issues related to the race. "AOL has positioned itself to be the go-to resource for political marketers needing to reach their constituencies through our ability to reach target audiences at scale with our comprehensive set of innovative, highly-targeted products," said Jeff Levick, President, AOL Global Advertising and Strategy. "Our Politics hub lets campaigns and issue advocacy groups take their messages directly to voters and key influencers in a proactive way through display advertising, and we make the on-boarding process something that is simple, easy and intuitive." The AOL Advertising Politics hub includes: *Ad Desk for Politics- A "how-to" guide for political targeting via AOL's display advertising platform. *Display University- A microsite to help marketers build their first campaigns and improve existing ones.
