Free Soccer Training Drills: A Guide To Switching The BallJuly 25th, 2010I will not force you to agree, but I would like to give some advices. In practicing free soccer training drills, the best teams keeps on switching the ball, looking for space and exploring the opposition’s defense for a fault. These skills can easily be imparted to the new players, if, during the soccer coaching drills, the coaches would follow the tips we are going to mention in the following sections. Match winning strategy: keep the defenders busy by throwing the ball from one side to the other, and attack the goal in between. Moving the ball from one to another player within the team helps reducing the stress. The Fast switch or the Blind Pass: Teach one or two mid-fielders to throw the blind pass by moving the ball using right foot, and hitting it to the left.Speedy Switching or Blind Pass: A blind pass can be accomplished, rolling the ball using right foot, while throwing it to left; one or two mid-fielders must be knowing this technique. You should teach the same technique to the left-footed mid-fielders, with the variation that they would dribble to the left side while swinging the ball back to the right side using left foot. The defender on the other side will not be expecting the pass and your team can catch the opposing team sleeping. All players in the team will have to adjust to the expectation that a switch is always coming so tell your team to frequently switch the ball. This is most challenging technique during the soccer drills; that would enable the entire player to comprehensively participate in the soccer practice. This drill requires six small goals on either side of the pitch. In case the player makes a goal which are placed in the middle of the field, a score is made by the team. They get two points for passing through the last goals as this encourages switching. During free soccer training drills, the goals should be made sufficiently wide to show that there is not much use just positioning a player between them to prevent a run or pass. One player should be assigned to run through the point A to B. When they are in between the goal, the opposition won’t be able to score. When young defenders are engaged in a game, they are often drawn away from their position. They normally gather around the ball. Thus the attackers should always be alert of the target areas and try to switch the game to the other area while making use of the defenders absence in that area. During following sessions of football drills, try to teach them to cover the entire width of the ground. Practicing this skills multiple time will yield a good understanding of the threat area. Now that you are armed with this information, incorporate these skills in your free soccer training drills, so your players are always ready and the opposition mid-fielders find it difficult to catch your defenders out.
