Will the U.S. Truly Change Under Barack Obama’s Administration?

November 22nd, 2009

Although the inauguration of Barack Obama is history, it’s probably still too early to see whether the surge of patriotism we saw will continue. The fact that we elected our first African American president was significant, but time will only tell if that is enough to keep people rallied behind the president.

It would benefit all Americans if that happened, because it’s finally time for us to be unified as one nation. One group that would certainly benefit would be U.S. veterans. Many left body parts on distant battlefields and in some cases, they sometimes didn’t get the thanks they deserved when they came back to the United States. That’s why I designed some veterans clip art that pays tribute to veterans. This veterans clip art is just a small way we can all show our support. That show of support could mean a lot to veterans who feel their country has forgotten them. We need to honor veterans more often than just sending occasional Veterans Day greeting cards. Americans need to value them all the time. They certainly deserve it. If we don’t extend that respect toward them; who will?

Yet, it’s not just veterans who would benefit from the unification of America. I would love to see people saluting the American flag when on parade, because they just couldn’t stop themselves from expressing their patriotism. One would hope that love of country will help Americans achieve peace. But will this reuniting take place? Some people are vehemently opposed to the administration’s changes. But that’s to be expected. Differences of opinion can actually help keep the process balanced. At least we hope so. The people of the United States will just have to see what happens.
